Government shutdown was tough, but it was also the snowiest month so I enjoyed snuggling in with the pups. Our Goddaughter Ivy turned one! Lifted Her Look became a more regular project for me and I participated in my third Women’s March with Katie and chopped off all my hair!
I continued working on the #LiftedHerLook challenge and Chris and I were so happy to see our friend Alex who was in town from LA doing a few shows!
We finally made it to Ben’s Chili Bowl and went to The Anthem to see Robyn which was a killer show! DuClaw Brewing released Unicorn Farts and all of my sour beer dreams came true. We picked a house!!!
We settled on our first home together this month and I rang in my 29th year with a drag brunch. Orioles Opening Day was finally a little warmer than usual. I got to meet Chelsea Clinton when she came to do a book reading at the zoo and I hosted the first and only (so far) #LiftedHerLook meet-up.
My first ZooFari and the auction did better than expected! Not bad for my first time running a silent auction! I went home to go to the Strawberry Festival with Mama and we got dinosaurs at the zoo!
Olivia turned one! We went away to Dewey Beach for a mini vacation with Chris’ parents. Our sweet Cannoli turned three and we had our housewarming party.
Brew at the Zoo was Jurassic Park themed and a smash success. Mama, Daddy and I went to the Delaware State Fair (as we do every year) and saw Dan + Shay! Lillie turned one and Laura turned 30th! We celebrated both in style.
I started the #MorningMeltdown100 program with Annie, Laura and Macy. Speaking of the blogger babes, Macy hosted Beer Olympics and we all spent the day together trying to be athletic and drinking beer. Chris and I went to two Orioles games with family and flew to Orlando. We went to Disney World and Star Wars land!
We saw Doughboys in DC and celebrated our first married anniversary together! This was a big month because I produced our 5K as well as Zoo Uncorked. Family came to stay with us and my brother proposed to his girlfriend in our new town. We celebrated Brandon’s birthday at R House and Josh + Lucas’ birthdays at Medieval Times!
Five event days. CDD, Boo & NOLZ took up a huge chunk of this month, but we also celebrated Chris’ birthday and spent four days in LA watching our friends get married! It was my first trip to LA and we will be making it a regular thing!
Two of our closest friends got engaged so we celebrated over brunch, duh. Mama came to town to see Light City in it’s new November timeslot. We prepped for ZooLights, had Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving.
This month has been one for the books! So many light displays, holiday parties, delicious treats and time with family and friends. The holidays are my favorite time of the year and also the quickest to pass, but I cherish every moment and memory made with my loved ones.
^^ This photo is one I’ve wanted to recreate for years. 25 years after the first photo was taken felt appropriate and this was the first Christmas that my brother has been home for in many years.
2019 was a year of love. So many memories were made with my parents, family, husband, friends, and pups. It may have been busy, but it was a fabulous year and I can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring!
