I cannot believe how GOOD and BUSY April was for us. It’s historically been a good month for Chris and I- my birthday and our engagement both happened this month so buying a house just added to the mix! The response from our family and friends has been amazing and we’ve had a ton of time to celebrate this month which has made it feel that much more special. We are going to plan a house warming gathering for sometime this Summer, but for now, let’s recap April!
Spring has sprung! I don’t know why, but I loved Spring SO MUCH MORE this year than ever before. Maybe it’s because winter was so hard for me this year or maybe it’s because we moved into our very own house with flowers already blooming. I don’t know why, but I’m here for it! We have two Redbuds and three Cherry trees in our yard and they are all so beautiful!
With our impending move (that no one really knew about) we visited with friends who live in NoMa and had a rooftop bbq at their apartment complex. I love this particular neighborhood so it was fun to see it from a resident’s viewpoint. The sunset was amazing and the company was even better.
Orioles Opening Day is a tradition for the DeMillo’s and this year was no different! We lost, but Chris and I had a great time spending the day in Baltimore and then watching the game from inside the park!
I hosted my first #LiftedHerLook meet up with my friend Ashton and honestly, it was better than I expected. I didn’t know if anyone would show up, but they did! I was able to meet new people and connect on so many different levels after spending the day together. I’m already looking at doing another one in May or June!
Chelsea Clinton stopped by the National Zoo for her book tour after releasing her latest, Don’t Let Them Disappear. It was really cool to be a part of the event and to meet her! She signed my She Persisted book.
We bought a house! I’m so so happy that the news is finally out and you can share in our joy with us! The house hunting journey was a long one and we couldn’t be happier to be in our new home and settle into the space.
We love DuClaw Beer and I especially love their sour beer so we were pumped to attend their Sour Me Festival this past month. Unfortunately, the event was a bust and we left disappointed, but the beer was tasty while it lasted.
This past December Chris and I attended our first Drag Brunch together and LOVED IT! So I obviously wanted to take some of my favorite people and go to another one! Chris and I along with three other couples went to Dirty Martini for their drag brunch. The show was great, but the company was better! I feel very lucky to have so many people come out to celebrate my last year in my twenties and love on me hard.
I’m so excited to share that I am now a Rent the Runway Ambassador! I attended the kick-off rooftop party with my friend Sommer. I had the best time getting to mix and mingle with fellow DC bloggers, meet new to me brands and creatives and learn more about RTR! I’m looking forward to continuing this partnership and seeing what is to come!
I don’t know how we fit THAT MUCH into one month, but I also don’t know how the month flew by so quickly either! I’m looking forward to May which includes our biggest event of the year, Mother’s Day, fun Memorial Day weekend plans and Pow! Wow! Dc! I can’t wait to share more. Happy May!
