As I finish this Summer recap I’m siting on my sofa listening to the sounds of Summer coming to an end. Lawn mowers are buzzing, grills are firing up and the squeals of neighborhood kids at the local pool can be heard through the streets. It’s Labor Day and Summer ends at midnight tonight. It was our first Summer in our new home and our first Summer as a married couple. As much as I am looking forward to the seasons to come, it was a first in our new home and it was a good one that I’ll never forget. Looking back at the memories we made makes my heart happy. A full recap of the DeMillo Summer Bucket List is below!
Eat local fruit while it’s in season (Strawberries in May, Peaches in June/July, Corn in July/August and Watermelon in August!)- I didn’t get to enjoy peaches, but I got my fair share of fresh corn on the cob, strawberries and watermelon!
Go to the beach– Chris and I spent a long weekend in Dewey with his parents at their vacation rental. We have already booked next years vacation and are looking forward to staying a little longer.
Eat a snowball– ONE. I ate only ONE snowball this season and it wasn’t that great. We tried the new snowball stand in Hampden that everyone was raving about, but we were let down.
Visit the Delaware State Fair– I only made it to one night of the fair this year because of the intense heat and my event schedule, but as always it was a great visit with my parents. The fair is such a special place to me and I am so thankful for each year that I get to visit with my Mama & Daddy.
Attend a concert– Dan & Shay came to the Delaware State Fair and I had such a good time with my parents!
Go tubing at
Harper’s Ferry– we ended up going tubing at Gunpowder which is closer and a little more chill. It ended up being the perfect activity to send out Summer on one of the last weekends before Labor Day! Attend a festival– We didn’t have much time to attend, because I was working my own events!
Watch the sunrise– Chris and I watched the sunrise almost every morning of our beach vacation with his parents and I was
Take a vacation– we visited Florida to catch up with friends and make a visit to Walt Disney World. The recap is coming up!
Grill out with friends Make pretzel salad
Attend an outdoor movie– We crossed this off our list just a few weeks ago with friends. The Little Mermaid wasn’t exactly what I was thinking when I added this to our list, but we had such a good time and realized how long it had truly been since we’d last seen the movie! I had forgotten so much, except the songs. The words came back to me so easily ha!
What did YOU do this Summer?!
