October was a beast of a month and it’s crazy that it came and went so fast. I felt like we had something written on every single day of the calendar this month and I FEEL like I just had the craziest month of my life so that’s pretty on par! October is a very busy month in the events world and also happens to be one of my favorite months as well so when I wasn’t working I was living my best Fall life!
I’m switching up the monthly recap template sine this month was a lot of the same thing- work and travel! October in numbers…..here we go!
10 Pumpkins Purchased
The first weekend in October was spent in Front Royal Virginia producing our Conservation Discovery Day. Chris and I dove head first into celebrating Fall and spent the Sunday after my event at Butler’s Orchard admiring the sunflowers, eating all things apple spiced and picking pumpkins.
8 Days Away
Besides my work trip and three days away from Chris, we also spent 5 days in Los Angeles for a friends wedding. I was able to catch up with two Baltimore/DC friends, sightsee and be a part of the best wedding celebration ! My recap of our LA trip can be read HERE.
5 Event Days
October is a marathon of events at the zoo. Conservation Discovery Day, three days of Boo at the Zoo and Night of the Living Zoo keep me busy this month. I was so happy and felt so loved when family and friends showed up to two of the three events. There is NOTHING better than seeing a familiar, smiling face on a hectic event day.
4 Hours with Carrie Underwood
Chris gifted me tickets to see Carrie Underwood in DC for our one year anniversary. This was HUGE for him because he is not a country music fan. We had a good time and he tolerated me singing at the top of my lungs for four hours!
The final event of October was Night of the Living Zoo, our adults only Halloween themed event. This years theme was Dark Carnival and while doing research I found an old sideshow game made out of a beer barrel that was similar to corn hole. I reached out to a local brewery that I love (thanks DuClaw Brewery!) for an ugly barrel and they graciously gave it to me for free. With help from my Father in Law and Husband it was transformed into the beauty below! It was a hit and I was so happy with the final result!
How was your month? How did you celebrate the beginning of Fall?
